Weddings

A wedding is one of life’s great occasions, a moment in time when commitment, life and love are pledged in the spirit of dedication and celebration. We take great care in the preparation and in all the details to ensure that Weddings conducted within our Churches are memorable occasions to look back on and to remember for years to come. We also offer a Service of Celebration following a Civil Marriage as well an opportunity and setting for those who wish to renew their Vows.

You can contact a Member of the Clergy via the website so as to make an appointment to discuss your wedding, or at the Church Office in the Belmont Centre on Thursdays 2.30-3.30pm or 7.00-8.00pm when the initial details can be discussed, a date set and arrangements made for the three preparatory meetings leading to a Rehearsal a few days before the Ceremony is due to be held.

As you will no doubt be aware a Marriage, whether in Church or at a Civil Venue has legal implications and these will be explained in an initial meeting. There are residential qualifications involved in the arrangement of a Wedding in our Churches. In addition to membership of our Churches a recent change in Church Law brings a number of qualifying connections which can enable a Marriage to take place if you do not live within our Parishes. These include past Family associations and for example attendance at the Schools.

Be it a Marriage, a Service in Celebration of a Civil Marriage or the Renewal of Vows our Churches offer a setting which will be remembered. In addition to the Service itself we are able to offer Music, a Choir, Bells and Flowers to make your day really special.

At Holy Cross the Belmont Centre offers a splendid Reception Venue and we are able to advise on Caterers and other facilities.

Contact with a Member of the Clergy can be made via the website, or during Church Office hours. The Church Office is located in the Belmont Centre and is open from 2.30 to 3.30 pm and from 7.00 to 8.00 pm on a Thursday. We look forward to meeting you in the near future.
