A Deanery is a grouping of parishes within a particular area of a Diocese. All our Parishes within our Plurality are part of the Uckfield Deanery which is made up of 18 Parishes. There are 17 churches across those Parishes and 13 Church of England schools.
Each Deanery is jointly led by the Lay Chair, who is elected by the lay members of the Deanery Synod, and the Area Dean who is appointed by the Bishop after consultation with the local Clergy and the Lay Chair.
The current Lay chair is Jeremy Burdett, the Secretary is Francis Wallace and the Rural Dean is Rev Paddy MacBain.
